Oof... I Mean Oh!
An epic series if there ever was one

The story of Oof
I actually decided to make Oof randomly to get a reaction from people. I wanted to make something that had an animation style which was for the most part pretty horrible, with a couple exceptions maybe, and have it only last a few seconds. The major part of the movie would actually be the credits, which would be long and drawn out, and include everything I could think to put in them after watching some movie credits.
It started as just me, but whoever happened to come around got to take part. My youngest sister Cassie was the first to show up, and having no flash experience under her belt at that point, I got her to draw some stuff, and act as the tree and the flower. Phelan, who also had no flash experience at this point, was the next to show up and got to draw the flower I think, and act as the sun. Zack was the last to show up, and got to be the moon. He never got to draw anything though, since everything was already drawn and almost all animated by then. To be fair I suppose, the paint chip showed up before them, so It got a more involved role; actually being character in the show! The name for the sun came from one of the colours on it too (Evening Sun), which in French was Soleil Couchant. Phelan glanced at it and said it wrong, and his pronunciation of it turned into the sun's name.
We sang the Run With Losers credits song at Phelan's, with the exception of Cassie who was not there at the time. When I went home, I got her to record herself singing it (our version didn't play while it recorded). I didn't let her hear ours first, just to add randomness, but I did tell her of a couple parts we exaggerated(like the quicksand part). The result fit so perfectly its honestly pretty hard to tell that she wasn't singing with us. And you gotta admit, me and Phelan had a pretty awesome twin voice guitar thing going on there during the credits.
Believe it or not, the plot was somewhat planned from the very start, the lines weren't set in stone, whoever walked in got to be a voice actor though, and except for Zack everyone got to draw something. I animated this, and did most of the drawing, but me and Cassie and Phelan all had some effect on how the story played out. It was released the day after Cassie's 10th birthday on newgrounds, and for awhile actually was making it on the top 50 list(teetered there for awhile before falling off into history). In the song during the credits, we promised a sequel, and we did just that... but not for quite awhile.

Enter Oof 2
We actually started Oof 2 very shortly after the original Oof's completion, but it got pushed aside for quite some time. A few characters and the background were drawn, and the plot thought up, and that was about it. No lines recorded, and no new animation done, other than the characters themselves, which I suppose really is most of the involved animation. The original plan after the first one was to keep making Oof episodes, but have them increase in quality each episode slightly, until there were really good. We haven't done that obviously with Oof 2, and haven't made any new work on Oof since.
After a couple years we picked it up again, and this time Csontos got to be a character as well. By now Phelan had also learned flash, and taken a much bigger role in the animation. The story was pretty similar to the original Oof, and kept true to the short, poor quality episode followed by long credits with us singing theme.
This time Cassie, and Csontos unfortunately missed out on the singing though, and Robert, who wasn't otherwise involved sang with us. That "no", said by the Moon, was actually Zack saying it in the background while we tried to record other lines. We punished him by putting it into the show.
Oof 2 didn't have quite the same impact as the first one did, which may be part of the reason a third hasn't been made. That along laziness, and having other things to do. The release of it wasn't quite as spontaneous as the first time, and the singing during credits was probably not quite as good either since we'd actually planned longer ahead of time that we'd sing it(not that it helped us learn it any better), but it was still fun to make. It never did make it to the top 50, but it didn't get blammed either, so we can count that as some sort of success. You should watch them both though, and if we ever feel up to it some day... maybe there'll be a sequel?

Here's a screenshot I took when Oof was number 48 on the portal's top 50 list. It was on and off the list a few times, but I think this is as high as it got.
